The annual International Conference on Asia-Pacific Digital Libraries
(ICADL) series is a significant forum for digital libraries research,
providing an opportunity for researchers, educators, and practitioners to
share their experiences.
The International Conference on Asian Digital Libraries (ICADL), initiated
in 1998 and rotated among Asian-Pacific countries, has become one of the
premiere meetings in digital library. Since its humble beginning in Hong
Kong (ICADL 1998), the meeting has been held in Taipei, Taiwan (ICADL 1999);
Seoul, Korea (ICADL 2000); Bangalore, India (ICADL 2001); Singapore (ICADL
2002); Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (ICADL 2003); Shanghai, China (ICADL 2004);
Bangkok, Thailand (ICADL 2005); Kyoto, Japan (ICADL 2006); and Hanoi,
Vietnam (ICADL 2007).
ICADL welcomes submissions from a variety of perspectives-previous
conferences in this series have included presentations from computer
science, library and information science, knowledge management, and areas in
the social sciences and humanities. We particularly welcome submissions
associated with the ICADL 2008 theme, Digital Libraries: Universal and
Ubiquitous Access to Information. With this theme, the digital libraries
community can reflect on its progress towards supporting people in finding
and using the information that they need.

ICADL 2008 will be held in Bali Island - Indonesia, a world renowned travel
destination with exotic nature and exquisite culture.
Bali has been in many of Conde Nast Traveller's lists of tourist
destinations over the years. It specifically mentions on its website that
Bali "offers an extraordinary caliber of luxury accommodation"
