Dear John!

It depends on your usage plans. RDF is a special kind of XML
designed for resource description. It is used in several situation,
for example the Project Gutenberg transform its catalogue into
this format, the Adobe uses for recording metainformation of
pictures, it is behind RSS news feeds etc. The Semantic Web
initiative is greatly based upon this format because of its
mathematical backround (description logic). The RDF has a
'meta language', which is the RDFS (RDF Schema language), with
which you can define classes, properties and instances.
The OWL language is another extension of RDF, which is used for
ontology building.
There are a lots of literature about the RDF, RDFS, OWL and the
concerning mathematical-philosophical concepts, and there are
some softwares as well (not too many i guess).

Hi,

I read an article recently which suggested that RDF, rather than XML,
may become the language of the Semantic Web.

As a newbie, should I concentrate on RDF, or, is it too early to say?
