Jeff,

We purchased four new computers, created a Career Center, then set the
time for the computers in this area for 2 hours with extensions free if
no one was waiting. These four computers are to be used by those only
doing career search related activity. We have loaded special software
and weblinks to the desk tops of these computers that allow easier
access to job searching. One of the big databases we added was WinWay
which we find is extremely helpful to our patrons. We do have to ask
those who are not using the area/computers appropriately to sign of and
reserve one of the hour computers.

Subject: [Publib] Public Access Computers for Job Seekers

The majority of our public access computers are used heavily by
job seeking patrons. Every day, many of our patrons have a difficult
time completing an online job application and or filling out an
unemployment application claim, on our 1 hour computers.

Has your library come up with any best practice strategies for
when all the public access computers are being used? Does your library
have "designated" computers just for job seekers?

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

	Sincerely,

	Jeff Lambert
