September 23, 2009 - "ASK" - A National Campaign for Reference? Fast Facts Published:

Inspired by a discussion from the Dig-Ref listserv, LRS  (http://www.lrs.org/) conducted a 60-Second Survey and asked if librarian-assisted reference services should be promoted. If so, should a library organization promote reference, perhaps with an “ASK” campaign (similar to ALA’s “READ” campaign)?  The survey also included questions to measure opinion on the significance of reference and virtual reference.  Almost 1,500 library employees responded and over 560 of them shared their views and ideas with comments. See what your colleagues said at: http://www.lrs.org/documents/fastfacts/279_Reference_60_Second_Results.pdf.
