Lisa is quite right. Volunteering is what got me my first job. I
volunteered, became a sub, and then was hired on full-time as the asst.
director. It was a fabulous opportunity for me.

Hi, Carolyn,

I'd try volunteering and/ or working any available job at a local library.
Volunteering gets your name/face known, and when a job does pop up they may
consider you first. If possible, maybe volunteer more than one place.

Good luck. I know it's tough out there.

Oh, and by the way, I see your email has "terrier" in it. I have two Jack
Russells (and want a third SO BADLY), and assume you may have some sort of
terrier? Just an aside!
