[Publib] career change ?

Hi, Carolyn,

I'd try volunteering and/ or working any available job at a local
library. Volunteering gets your name/face known, and when a job does pop
up they may consider you first. If possible, maybe volunteer more than
one place.

Good luck. I know it's tough out there.

Oh, and by the way, I see your email has "terrier" in it. I have two
Jack Russells (and want a third SO BADLY), and assume you may have some
sort of terrier? Just an aside!

Subject: [Publib] career change ?

to all:

My name is Carolyn Bauer and I currently work full time as a
teaching/library assistant in a MS/HS Library. In May 2008 I received my
MLIS from LIU. I received my certification for Public Library, but with
the way of the economy, jobs in the public library sector in New York
are scarce. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or avenues that I might
pursue?

For the time being, a few hours to start, just to get my foot in the
door.

Thanks

Carolyn Bauer
