[Publib] Jane Austen "read alike"

What a great idea! There's about a thousand of these... Austen is VERY
hot right now. (Yay!) Here's a few that I I've liked that I don't
think have been mentioned yet...

(I second the recommendation for the Pamela Aidan series -- by far the
best Darcy's POV, imo.)

Another good set from the male POV is Captain Wentworth, Captain by
Susan Kaye: None But You & For You Alone.

If you are looking for a lighthearted contemporary retelling in one
novel, try Melissa Nathan's Pride, Prejudice and Jasmin Field. For one
that's a little darker, try Pemberly by the Sea: A Modern Love Story,
Pride and Prejudice Style by Abigail Reynolds.

A couple good works containing Jane Austen herself and/or elements of
her novels: The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen (fictionalized) by Syrie
James, The Man Who Loved Jane Austen by Sally Smith O'Rourke. A really
irreverant but funny (and slightly racy) work is Seducing Mr Darcy by
Gwyn Cready.

A sequel that I liked is Joan Aiken's Mansfield Revisited, but it's
older, so I don't know if it's still available to purchase through
vendors.

If you like vampire stories, you can try Mr Darcy, Vampyre by Amanda
Grange; I think it's getting mixed reviews. I have no desire to pick
this one up, but then I'm not a paranormal fan.

This is a pretty good list of them too:

Enjoy!
