Reading the postings is heart wrenching, and again, it does not have 
to be a big city.  I work part time in a very suburban library.  One 
of our regular users lives in a car at the local Walmart.  Sometimes 
the car works well enough to drive to the library, about a mile 
away.  Other times she asks for rides back and forth, and I have also 
seen her walking late at night on the busy road that leads to the Walmart.
