The Grand Rapids Public Library is seeking a dynamic and experienced 
professional Librarian to direct the cataloging of all print and 
non-print materials.

    *

      Supervises the support staff in the cataloging operation,
      including paraprofessionals.

    *

      Responsible for all original cataloging and oversees the copy
      cataloging.

    *

      Assumes day to day supervision of cataloging, acquisitions,and
      processing operations.

    *

      Supports and promotes “Lean” practices and participates in the
      Library's “Lean” Culture.

    *

      Reports to the Coordinator of Technical Services and Circulation.

People applying for this position must have considerable knowledge of 
the theory and practice of cataloging, classification, and related 
resources (AACR2R). The ability to prioritize, organize and complete a 
diverse body of work within specified time frames. Prefer experience 
with process management concepts, such as “Lean”. Must have strong 
technological skills.

The applicant should have five years of progressively responsible 
professional librarian experience including supervision, cataloging, 
project management, public library experience,
