The Downers Grove Public Library has had a Book A Librarian program for about 6 months. We are only doing this in the adult departments, and specifically are not providing assistance with patron's personal computer issues. The guidelines can be seen on our web site here: http://www.downersgrovelibrary.org/book_librarian.php Reservations are made any time at the mutual convenience of the patron and staff. We have had a couple bookings per month, sometimes for general instruction on using the library, sometimes for very specific research needs such as using genealogy databases. It is busy enough that it does seem to be a useful service, but not so busy as to place a burden on staff or impact other services.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [Publib] Book A Librarian
Dear friends,
We are thinking of implementing a Book a Librarian service whereby patrons
can make appointments with librarians for an alloted amount of time. Before
we begin, we are hoping to compile some information from the collective
brain...
