[Publib] Digital Databases

Hello Collected Wisdom~

Recently, there were a few emails RE online databases. I was intrigued because I did not realize there were so many pitfalls with online databases in public libraries. I worked in my university library for 2 years and never heard about any such issues. Granted, I was a student worker in an academic library, but I carried a few more responsibilities than the average and never heard any such problems as were described.

ANYwho, I've decided I'd like to know more. I've created a quick (less than 10 questions) survey relating to online databases, their pricing, and usage in public libraries. I've focused only on music databases because that's what I work with and what I know, but the results should still be telling of a few pros and cons with digital databases in public libraries. I'm hoping some of you will take a few minutes of your time to fill this out. There are a few daunting comment boxes, but do not fear, they are optional. Of course I intend on sharing my findings if interest is generated.

Here's the link to the survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=eymvM7Rjzn7xxE9SUxzdWg_3d_3d

Thank you for your time~
Anne
