[Publib] The Cashless Library

Hi Lise,We are not cahsless. I can tell you when I had to get a card at a
neighboring library to get my printouts it was a hassle! First, I had to pay
.50 for the privilege of the card. I couldn't just put the amount on there
that I needed so now I have a card rolling around with money on it that I
probably won't use.

I understand the desire to cut back on handling the cash. As a patron
though, I'm not sure I can appreciate it. Especially if I had to put extra
money on the card to pay a fine. Or if I wasn't able to use it at all of the
libraries that I frequent so I would have to carry a collection of cards and
remember which one was for what facility.

I'm not sure it's practical yet, for us at least.
