[Publib] "entry level" positions

years, and the only real entry-level jobs I see in public libraries are for
children/youth/teen librarians."

I can't speak to what's going on nationally, or whether or not the system I
work for has been posting notices nationally, but I can tell you that I was
hired as an adult services librarian straight out of my MLS program two
years ago without any prior library experience beyond a few brief
internships.

Since then, I've seen plenty of vacancy announcements from our system for
adult services librarians, and they all have had the same requirement: MLS
-- that's it. At the moment, we don't have any full-time adult services
positions available, but there are part-time ones, and the "Qualifications"
section of the announcement is identical to the full-time listings:
