It has been my experience that patrons don't hesitate to do this. "You
should read this, it's so good," but that's their opinion, I personally
loathe the genre or author about which they are enthusing. The closest we on
the other side of the desk get to promoting taste is to suggest read-alikes.
And why do so many people assume that the librarians have read every book in
the building? I've barely got time to update my checkbook.

Your librarian doesn't feel she should bring out a book and say to the
