[Publib] 50 things

Guess I'm feeling cynical today, but I wouldn't mind having a "50 Things Library Users Should Never Do" list. Here are a few:

1. Never continue a cell phone call while being waited on at the library's customer service or reference desk. First, we don't know if you're talking to us or the person on the phone. Also, when you just throw things across the desk at us while continuing to yammer into the phone, we kind of feel less than human.

2. Never call a library employee a b-tch and slam the phone in her ear when she explains why you can't renew the laptop that we actually let you check out and TAKE HOME for a week.

Civility is dead, it seems. We attempt to be the last bastion, but it is definitely a daily battle that sucks the life right out of a person. 

Certainly, these opinions are my own. And the behavior noted does not reflect the community as a whole. It only takes a few bad apples, etc. etc.
