Apologies for a possible off-topic message but we've discussed wild animals in book returns and around the building, animals that assist the disabled, strays animals and library cats. I also recall a message from a librarian about an e-discussion group for librarians interested in animal rescue activities but I cannot remember the poster's name, the group's name or where it is hosted or when the message was sent out.
So, for those of you interested or a member of that group able to pass this along, please share the following:
Web site for Animal Rescue Donations by Food Companies
Hi, all you animal lovers! This is pretty simple... Please ask ten friends to each ask a further ten today! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily so they can meet their quota of getting FREE FOOD donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute (about 15 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box "Click here, it's free". This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Please pass it along to people you know.

Caveat: I'd suggest doing this on a personal computer, not a work one. Be aware that by clicking, you may be giving 3rd parties access to your email address for marketing purposes. Basically, there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Thank you all for your consideration.
