[Publib] CIPA and Reading History

Our library chose not to comply with CIPA so I confess I do not feel
totally up to date with its requirements, but why would CIPA enter into
this at all? I do not understand the connection between being forced
to block things an Internet filter considers to be sexually explicit and
an electronic reading history?
On another note, our system does allow people to keep their reading
history but we only turn it on after they have read and acknowledged
they understand that it may mean info on their past reading habits could
be turned over to law enforcement in the event of a court order.

I was hoping someone could help. We are starting to use Polaris later
this month, which allows patrons to keep a record of their reading
history. Does anyone know if CIPA would affect this for minors? Or if
there is any other concerns we should think about with minors choosing
to keep their reading histor
