I'll argue that this is not necessarily bad grammar or a mistake at all. It
is the name of the building. "On the left is the Smith Castle, and on your
right is the Hearst Castle. In front of the bus you'll see the Robinson
Estate" Isn't this how estates and the like are named? It is of course
identifying the house based on the owner, but still you wouldn't ever say
"This is Bob Roger's Castle." It just sounds strange, and not grandiose at
all. When is the possesive used in naming something, even if it belongs to
the person who owns it?

Say a patron comes up to your reference desk and says, "My kid is doing some
research on Hearst Castle.  But shouldn't it be 'Hearst's Castle?'"

 

What would you answer to that?
