To my mind, the decisive factor here, can you recycle them without extra
work? You will find some to add, some worth selling in-house, some to
donate to other area libraries (jails, etc.) and a very few that are worth
selling on Amazon or some other site. After that, a significant portion
will go directly out, so you need a decent way to handle them. We have a
locked paper recycling dumpster on site. Keeps people from playing in our
garbage, the books get recycled along with our other paper. Fill it up
before opening, so no one sees you throwing away books.
