Colleagues,

I was wondering if anyone out there uses and has experience with the Horizon Serials module. The reason I ask is that we've recently finished a patron survey and one of the requests was for the ability to place item-level holds on individual issues of magazines. Currently, patrons can place bib-level holds but cannot place holds on a specific, bar-coded issue.

I'm new to  Horizon, so while I've learned more about the serials module than anyone else here, I'm still a bit in the dark. Our ILS team has come up with the idea of creating a bib for each issue of each magazine and foregoing the serials module. That is, a separate bib for the March, April, May, etc. issues of a each title.

Does anyone have experience with Horizon Serials or with a non-traditional serials process? Thank you!
