We split it on grade. Rising sixth graders can do either kids or teens, some do both, though most opt for teens. 4th and 5th (what I would consider true tweens) are in childrens.

We have two types of partnerships with local bookstores:
local independent -- when they get a local author that they think could attract a large group with a reading they will call us up to partner and use our space. The well-know authors they keep in the store for signings.
Borders at a nearby mall -- we have a weekly storytime in their store. We used to have an empty store we used but the partnership of using their space has been more pleasant.
