[Publib] Looking for examples of 'web wolves' in sheep's clothing

I don't understand the problem with the IRH site? Is it not affiliated
with Georgetown? Is it not promoting information about a particular
method of birth control? It seems up front to me about its point of
view. It may not fit someone's political beliefs about birth control,
but it doesn't seem like a hoax or hate speech or even misleading or
anything like that.

Mark,
I used to do a similar presentation often when I worked as an academic
librarian. Here are a few of my favorites. Not all are .orgs, but they
do illustrate the point that you have to be careful when looking at web
sites in order to determine authority.

http://www.malepregnancy.com
http://rael.org
http://irh.org
http://www.gatt.org/ (claims to be WTO site) http://globalwarming.org

There was also a really good site put together by the beef people about
why kids should eat lots of beef, complete with recipes and activities.
I can't remember the URL, but you had to really dig to uncover who had
put the site together.

I'm hoping someone out there can help. I teach a class in web searching
for paraprof's & new entry level librarians, and one of the (to me)
tired old examples I've used to illustrate the point that .org web sites
don't automatically mean a safe authoritative source is the infamous
martinlutherking.org site, which as everyone knows has connections to
stormfront.org.

Any fresh ideas for other examples of 'web wolves' in sheep's clothing?
