I am an MLIS student at the University of Washington and an intern
conducting research for the Seattle Public Library on the best
practices of usability testing. We are interested in learning how
usability testing of web services is conducted or addressed across
public libraries. It would be greatly appreciated if you could take a
few minutes to respond to the questions below. Any replies to the
listserv or directly to me at mattsorg at u.washington.edu would be
greatly appreciated. If speaking on the phone would be more
convenient, send me a phone number, date and time to call. And
please forward widely. Thanks again for your help!
Questions
1. Could you please provide overview of how usability testing is
conducted, if at all, for your website?
2. Do you hire outside contractors or is usability testing conducted
in house?
3. If usability is conducted in-house, what equipment and software is
used?
4. If usability testing is conducted by employees, what is their
position within your organization?

Matthew Sorg
