I work at one of our medium-sized branch libraries (about 75,000 - 100,000
volumes). We do quite a lot with our YA shelving, but we're lucky enough to
have the shelf and floor space to do it. Here are some of the things we do:

-- We have a whole section dedicated to YA books (fiction and non-fiction),
magazines, graphic novels, comics, and audiobooks. It sort of U shaped, so
it's separated from the adult and juvenile collections.
-- We sticker the outside of books in a series with the name of the series,
and the number of that book. We then shelve them by series title and
numerical order under the authors name with the rest of the books.
-- We pull out some of the paperback series and put them on spinner racks.
These are then color coded by genre (science fiction, fantasy, romance,
Christian, etc.). The outside of the spinner has the name of the series
velcroed to it for easy access.
-- We have two endcaps for all the new YA titles. These are also stickered
as New.
-- We faceout materials on the end of shelves as we have room.

Our YA materials have high circulation, and the teens and staff find it easy
to use. Let me know if you have any questions!
