One of the main things I would like to know is
How do you notify a campus that is spread out & in different buildings with
NO PA system? When we recently had a lockdown, Friday March 20th, we
received a phone call. Luckily the Director was here and could answer his
phone both for the lockdown and the lockdown release. If he had been out,
then we may have never known. We did get 2 additional phone calls about the
lockdown. However, if we had went to an area w/o a phone or not able to
answer his then we would stilll be locked down.(not really, trying to stress
a point and bring a smile to what is a very serious topic.)

How do others notify a great number a people? - This happened at lunch time
and many people were out enjoying the nice day. They had no clue, nor did
some people inside who did not happen to be near someone who got the call.

What companys, products or software are being used?

How expensive are they?

Do you use more than one method?

If so, what are they?

The Safety Committee is meeting again soon to discuss the problems we
encountered. The very ironic thing was, this was our first meeting. 10
minutes or less after I came back to the library, we got the phone call.
