We put these items behind the desk and people have to ask for them when they
can't find them on the shelf.
Works for us.

Frequently stolen items: To replace or not replace?

We find in my library system that many of the same items are stolen
again, and again, and again. This leads us to wonder, particularly with
funding iffy in this economic climate, whether we should even replace
these items. Obviously they are popular, but is it worth buying new
copies, knowing that these will just be stolen too? How do others
approach this?
