Howdy Ronnie:
I served as the New England public library educational representative
to the National Network of Libraries of Medicine after being recommended by
Brown University - the leading regional Health Sciences Library.
Before WebMD and the proliferation of verifiable medical on-line health
resources, I collaborated with Frank Kellerman from Brown and Mary
Zammerelli of St. Josephs Hospital to create a search guide for public
librarians.
It is out of date, but the structure was effective when we held reference
librarian
round table training sessions for Rhode Island public libraries and was even
featured in
USAToday:

If you are interested in effective partnerships with Health Science
Libraries, the NN/LM mid-continent region would be your best resource:
http://nnlm.gov/mcr/
They are very good at providing training in medical informatics and
developing
user friendly resources. I highly recommend that every public library see
what
they have to offer.

Subject: [Publib] Partnerships between libraries and hospitals
Does anyone know of partnerships between a library [probably public, but not
necessarily] and a hospital, especially in terms of making health and
wellness information available, whether via print or electronic resources?
Thanks--Ronnie
