We're a medium-sized library (400K vols, 1.5 million annual circ) and,
like every other public library, are finding things increasingly tight.
We've had a Friends group for 33 years and a Foundation for 23 years,
but we need to do a better job of fund-raising and advocacy.  After a
feasibility study, both our Friends and Foundation agreed to study a
possible merger, and the staff is enthused about the prospects.

 

Are there other libraries which have joint Friends and Foundations that
can share bylaws?   If there are other libraries that have accomplished
mergers of two separate groups, I'd be interested in hearing of any tips
or pitfalls in pursuing merger discussions.
