If you want to see what some of the public think about library construction and renovation, go here and read the comments.?
http://www.stimuluswatch.org/project/search/library
This is a collection of potential stimulus projects, narrowed down to those connected with libraries.? Of course, much of this is simply sour grapes and raving, and I'm hoping that the negative folks don't go to the polls, but then again, they may.? Here's an enlightened soul in Coahoma, Mississippi:
"I am sorry but a town with 74 families does not even need a library. They can use the county library. In fact a town this size needs no municipal services at all. The people can move or live as individuals would in the country. The money asked for here comes to $151,419 per family, which is atrocious. The town should be dissolved."
And another library friend in Des Moines:
"Where in the Constitution do you find the allowance for federal money to be spent on this? Let the state of Iowa pay for it, or better yet, let Des Moines pay for it. This is not a federal gov't problem, and it certainly won't stimulate the economy."
Of course, there are some positive comments, probably penned by folks who don't know that they are under the spell of a socialist administration and its destructive policies.? You can write your own if so inclined.
