I second this because I am also very allergic to cats (and rabbits). I would be very disappointed if a cat kept me from my local library.

Please do not do this. I am horribly, dangerously allergic to 
cats. I could never visit the library if it had a cat, and when it 
got rid of the cat, it would be months before all the cat stuff 
were gone. I am not alone in this allergy, and it is far more 
common than you might think.
