[Publib] CREW method

My library is in a small, rural community. I write a weekly newspaper
column. Last fall I wrote about those worthy books that haven't
circulated. I gave a brief review of a few of them. I asked patrons to
come in, browse through the display of overlooked gems and consider
saving one or more from weeding.
My campaign was overwhelming successful. There was nothing left to weed.
Therein lies the problem: shelf space is so limited that if I don't weed
regularly, I can't buy new.
Be careful what you wish for, your dreams, like mine, may come true.

Subject: Re: [Publib] CREW method
In skimming the manual, I saw: "Set up displays for low circulating,
high quality books that would benefit from exposure."
I've seen those displays here and there. Do any libraries take these
books and put them on book trucks near circulation, to give the
impression that they circulate? Didn't I hear someone say they did
that? What were the outcomes?
