The CREW method addresses this:

http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/pubs/crew/

In particular, the pages focusing on weeding by DDC, beginning on page
49.

The opinions are my own; the library wouldn't want 'em!

Subject: [Publib] Date Critical Nonfiction

I am curious how other libraries determine what dewey categories/topics
are date critical? Which ones need to have 70% or more of the holdings
published in the last 3-5 years? Which ones need to have 70% or more of
the holdings published in the last 10 years? Are these areas different
for adult material and juvenile material?

If I get enough responses I will compile them for the list

Thanks!

Kathryn
