[Publib] Job Announcement: Reference Librarian at a University in San Diego, CA

Library Associates Companies (LAC) is seeking a temporary Reference Librarian for a university located in San Diego, California. This is a full time temporary position (will include some evenings and weekends). This is potentially a nine week position, but may be longer in duration depending upon the need. The position is anticipated to be from mid July through late August.


Responsibilities


 *   Staffing the Central Library Help Desk, providing general and specialized reference assistance.
 *   Assist students and patrons in the use of the library catalog and of all electronic resources.
 *   Provide reference services in person, online, via email, and telephone;
 *   Other duties as assigned.

 Required Qualifications


 *   MLS or MLIS from an accredited ALA accredited program.
 *   Must have a high degree of technological proficiency.
 *   Successful candidate must provide proof of education and 3 professional references who will be contacted (former supervisors preferred).
 *   One year's experience providing general reference services.

 *   Ability to lift materials up to 30 pounds;
