Back in 2005 you posted to Publib:

The man who does most of them charges $200.  He specifies that he will
appraise the first 75 items that the audience brings with a maximum of
three per person; no firearms.  
 
Some libraries do the program as a fundraiser -- e.g. if you're a member
of the Friends the appraisal is free; if you're not, you have to pay ($5
or $10) per item.<<
