In today's news, some imbecile has been laid waste by a cow in  Pamplona.  
We can blame Hemingway for the popularity of this event.   Say what you will 
about Scott Fitzgerald, he didn't bequeath to us a festival  out on Long 
Island for the Running of the Flappers.  
 
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that any librarian has yet  
been gored in Pamplona.  Perhaps this is because the trade is 85% female,  and 
women aren't that dumb.  On the other hand, if the matadors were  running 
the streets, some might head out and risk a goring.  Your  modern woman fears 
neither cape nor sword.
 
Maybe we need to have a Running of the Librarians through some city council 
 meetings.  The staff could wear horns, gore and trample those who have  
voted to cut funding.
