Rick, my take as list co-mod is that some of the subscription problems would
increase anyway (a natural outcome of "scale") but since we moved to our
current environment we've had persistent problems that growth of the list
can't explain away and that we can't fix. It's one thing to find out (as we
often do) that someone's address has changed just a tiny bit -- the list is
just software, and a miss is as good as a mile. It's another when there is
an ongoing problem with users who can't subscribe with valid email addresses
that can subscribe to other similar lists.
