[Publib] RE: Problems with list

Hi all:
I haven't noticed any big problem, but I rarely post. I would not
like to see Publib migrate to a social networking site, or a blog
format. I do read several library blogs regularly, so it's not that I'm
antiblog (heaven forbid, I'd be burned at the stake). Nor would I be
happy about any kind of paid commercial "sponsorships".
If we have 9000 subscribers, how much of a minor contribution would
it take from anyone who can afford it to generate some funds for a
different software or host, if necessary? And if it's several dollars
or less, how many people *couldn't* afford it?
I do find the list to be a great resource and will watch what
happens with interest. Are we sure the problem with the current setup
is widespread and not just a smaller subset for some reason? -- Rick
