In your commentary I read the same disdain for white collar workers as they
are accused of expressing towards blue collar work. I believe that white
collar work generally offers greater potential for financial success and
what parent wouldn't want that opportunity for their children and wouldn't
encourage them in that direction. As an example, I don't see any prejudice
within myself. In fact some of my best friends are tradesmen and
women. ;-) The lack of desire to do a particular type of work has nothing
to do with an aversion to work in general.
Myself, I don't have a single career interest so if I could wave a magic
wand and assume the skills that would qualify me for other types of work,
sure I might go for it on a lark - landscape architect, architect, attorney,
mapmaker, professional athlete. But I do love what I'm doing now.
