Heading to Denver for ALA Midwinter? Please join OCLC for two
informative programs about the delivery of electronic resources to
library users.
10 Years of eBooks: A Celebration
10 years ago, the release of the first eBook platform to the library
market was met with a mixture of intrigue, caution and enthusiasm. A
decade later,
it is time to reflect on the past years and consider where we will be
heading in the next ten years. A panel of eBooks leaders will discuss
the
development of eBooks and answer questions such as: How far have we
progressed in realizing eBooks' potential? What opportunities are there
for future development? How will eBooks change libraries and library
collections?
Panelists:
* Sue Polanka: Head, Reference and Instruction, Wright State
University and owner of the "No Shelf Required" blog.
* Dennis Dillon: Associate Director for Research Services,
University of Texas at Austin
* Tom Rosenthal, Senior Manager, Electronic Product Sales,
Elsevier
Moderator: James Galbraith, Associate Product Manger, NetLibrary
