[Publib] "audience development officers" or "librarians"

I just emailed a colleague in a special library in Edinburgh--they work on a
project with the public libraries. She hadn't seen the article and was
pleased that the absurdity of it all was being aired publicly. I certainly
hope we've all read Orwell and remember Newspeak, "the only language in the
world whose vocabulary gets smaller every year." I'm beginning to truly
believe that we're in a profession which is being defined in narrower ways
every year...as Kathleen notes.
