[Publib] Dewey Decimal Classification

Hmm, do away with the most universally used classification system in the
world. When I went to Ireland and visited their Libraries, there was Dewey.
When I talked to a senior Librarian from the Singapore library at the
Reference Renaissance, he said their entire system is Dewey-based. So it's a
waste to used the most organized system created for libraries, now in its
22nd edition, because of the expansion of the world's knowledge. As created,
it relies on catalogers at the Library of Congress, Dewey Division to
determine the Dewey number.

We have taken Dewey a step further. In certain areas, such as Health, we
have brought all the health-related books together, so that the books on
Drug Abuse, 362.29, are within close walking distance of Healthy Diets and
Exercise, 613.2 and 613.7. We're calling ours, the Health Neighborhood.
We've also partnered with local hospitals, and Chiropractic Clinics, to
receive materials to distribute to the public on health-related issues. We
also had community donors give us money to purchase a blood pressure machine
(like those found in supermarkets, where you sit at the machine and put a
cuff around your arm to get measured.)

Getting rid of Dewey, bad idea. Using Dewey to its best advantage,
priceless.
