Computer screens are easy to clean. Computer keyboards are hard to clean.
And they get dirty. You get all sorts of unmentionable residue between the
keys, fallen into the keyboard, et cetera.
What to do:
You can clean them, and you will. But the long-term solution is to replace
them from time to time. This may seem expensive, and it is, if you rely on
the usual customer supply chain. Right now I'm typing on a Microsoft keyboard
that I bought for a dollar at a thrift store. New. They had stacks of
them. I should have bought a hundred.
Electronics outlet stores stock keyboards for very low prices; likewise
online auctions such as Ebay have them. I just saw some for a penny plus
shipping.
One note: don't get any other color but black. It doesn't show the dirt as
much.
