The link below will take you to contact info for the Chicago Area Conservation Group.  It's likely they can refer you to bookbinders who are members of the organization.  The contact person is at the Chicago Historical Society so if the info below is out of date, ask for the CHS Library.  The CHS suffered a major building flood years back and have likely got lots of contacts

I tried to google a Chicago area firm, Graphic Conservation, Inc. that
we worked with in the 1990's while I was still at the museum in Milwaukee.  They were fantastic people to work with, knowledgeable and very helpful.  Alas all I found was one old reference on ConsDistList at Stanford. They might still be in the area, operating under a different name but the CACG might help there, too.  

Of course, they've probably retired and moved down to Michael Golrick's new neck of the woods -- lots of work for conservators and bookbinders in Louisiana, I'd imagine.
