Other than bandwidth, why would libraries block YouTube? It is highly
efficient, readily indexed, can be easily embedded on any blog or
website and is available now in HD. And, you don't need to host it your own
server - you can use Google to host it for free.
If libraries provide video cassettes and dvds, why would providing video by
internet be any different - especially when there is no
impact on the bottom line? YouTube also presents extraordinary mash-up
capabilities for providing training and instructional materials
so it can actually help the bottom line by facilitating training and
instruction. Win/Win
