[Publib] Fires

If any are wondering, the Altadena libraries, La Canada and La Crescenta  
libraries of the Los Angeles County System and the Pasadena Public Libraries 
are  in residential neighborhoods below the area of the present fires.  We 
are  seeing a lot of smoke here, but that isn't a rare occurrence.  The fires 
 are raging above in the chaparral and might endanger some houses at the 
margin  of the brush, but the libraries are snug in suburbia.
 
Went for a swim this morning and watched the fires tumble down the  
mountainside on the ride home.  From my house you can see plumes of flame  explode 
in the brush.  The terrain is very steep, which is why control is a  few 
hours or days off.
