I have been chastised by Kindle fans for not understanding that the Kindle
also lets you adapt text, .doc, and .pdf files to be read on the Kindle. I
had thought only amazon titles were allowed to be read, but apparently it
offers a much more open platform than I'd realized.

I know we have a bunch of Kindle owners on the list -- maybe they can speak
more to that?
