Laura, Ben, and others who might be interested:
We have two boxes, one on our ground floor and one on our main floor, where
people can drop off used printer cartridges -- from big office printers
(toner cartridges) to the little ink jet cartridges in home computers. They
can also be dropped off at our reference desk. Staples will take any ink
cartridge, printer or copier, and give you a credit of $3 for each one. They
accept up to 20 a month if you have a special business rewards card.
(Rewards cards are free -- it's just a matter of signing up for the
program.) Once a month, they send you a check that can be spent at Staples,
if you've turned in any cartridges that month.
Individuals (signed up for the individual rewards program) can take
cartridges in as well, but are limited to 10 a month. The link here is for
the individual program, but has some of the relevant info.
