[Publib] carpet alternatives?

Consider cork floors. They are environmentally friendly. Softer than hard woods, so they aren't so noisy. They are also warmer, good in the winter. (I've felt them side by side with hard woods and you can feel the difference.) Because cork is textured, it's less slippery.

> Does anyone know of a good alternative to carpeting for busy community rooms? We have lots of programming involving crafts and food, and the carpet stains just won't come up. We'd love to find a more practical floor covering, but are concerned about potential for injuries on a hard surface. Also, we're in upstate New York, so we also have to consider the slippery factor - lots of snow and mud comes in on shoes and boots.
