I found the Bibles shelved in the fiction section once, at Barnes & Noble. I'm thinking it was someone having a little fun...

Putting things in that category might be seen as an affront to those people who believe in them. At Barnes & Noble I met some folks who were incensed because the books on UFOs were shelved in the occult section. What could I say? So I went to the manager and submitted that these books should moved to the transportation section.

We use 001.9 for "Spurious knowledge." Recent editions of Dewey call
it "Controversial knowledge," but I prefer the older term.
BTW: Our copy of "Chariots of the gods" just went out on ILL. And
I'll bet we have several patrons who would love to see the 9/11 videos.
