[Publib] 1st Amendment Rights

But if you didn't want everyone/anyone to know your personal views, why
would you blog?

The marketing stuff is really easy (for me at least) to ignore. The grocery
targets you for mailer ads based on what you buy (but only if you use the
"preferred card" which also may get you discounts on some things). What's
the difference?

I haven't Googled myself lately, but last time not so much stuff came up.
And you KNOW I am on publib frequently.

Very interesting thread.

True, but now they can Google me and find everywhere I've commented,

find my blog and read it, know my personal views, etc. And marketers

target me based on verbage in my emails. I've seen ads change based on

what I've just written. I see that when I'm discussing something obscure

with a friend, then an ad pops up with the same theme. It's funny, but

scary.

People could find you in the old days, but now they can find you much

faster, and with much more detail.
